Vans launches the Vault 5x5 project
Five prominent international retailers rework as many iconic models
December 17th, 2018
Just in time for the holiday season, Vault presents its latest project: a collaboration with five authoritative retailers, each of whom re-elaborates as many iconic models of the brand with a touch of creativity: Era, Sk8-Hi, Old Skool, Slip -On and Authentic. Is your enthusiasm already rocketing? Well, then let's see the details of this special capsule. The Chicago shop NOTRE makes an OG Old Skool LX in vintage green and gray suede, with an exclusive version of the iconic side band and the logo on the heel; while the Korean WORKSOUT gives an interpretation of the OG Authentic LX creating a mesh and metal version. Bows and Arrows in Berkeley opts for the OG Sk8-Hi, a sneaker in black, red, blue and yellow, giving a new perspective to a Vans classic inspired by traditional motosports graphics.
In the OG Slip-On LX VIER from Antwerp combines a tiger motif with the palm tree motif. Other details? The inside of the shoe is decorated with a digital print and the inscription "Vamos a la playa" is printed on the sole. The last partnership is with the Milanese SLAM JAM who plays the OG Era LX. The 1976 class silhouette designed by Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta buys accents of black, white and red, the official colors of the shop, and an exclusive typography on the sides, different logos of Slam Jam made by Fergadelic, pseudonym of graphic designer Fergus Purcell.
All Vans by Vault 5x5 sneakers are already available in each store partner since December 2018.
