What went down at the British Fashion Council Awards
Four special prizes for Italian fashion
December 11th, 2018
Yesterday night at the Royal Albert Hall in London what we could define as the "Oscars" of fashion took place. A few years ago the event did not have this kind of impact on the media, but this year it was absolutely great and chic, with the presence of a large number of celebs and well-known fashion industry personas. A shiny red carpet, thanks to the partnership with Swarovski, welcomed Kendall, almost naked, as well as Lana del Rey, Penelope Cruz, Lil Miquela, Cindy Crawford elegantly dressed in Alexander McQueen, as well as her daughter Kaia Gerber, who went on to win model of the year award. The unexpected surprise was the presence of Meghan Markle, pregnant and dressed, as for her wedding with Prince Harry, in a (black) Givenchy dress.
The ceremony was hosted by the British Fashion Council, with the aim of raising funds for the BFC Foundation Educational, the association that helps the development of the British fashion industry and raise money for the most talented designers.
The awards were hosted by Eva Herzigova and the verdicts were not a total surprise, year after year the hierarchies in the fashion world remain crystal clear, the biggest brands got the usual prizes for their work in the various categories and also the Made in Italy took home something, winning 4 prizes, assigned to Pier Paolo Piccioli, Miuccia Prada, Marco Bizzarri and to the fashion house Gucci.
