More compelling than a Netflix series?!

If it did not have potential long-term consequences for made in Italy the Dolce & Gabbana vs China quarrel would be almost tragi-comic, because it evolves to look like an episode of a series on Netflix. Here is a new chapter: the designer couple have apologized to the Chinese people with a video released today on Weibo. "In these days we have very much, with great regret, re-thought everything that happened to us and what we have caused in your country and we are very sorry. Our families have always taught us to respect the various cultures of the world and for this we want to apologize if we have made mistakes in interpreting yours, "says Domenico Dolce, sitting next to his colleague Stefano Gabbana. The two claim to have made the wrong way to express themselves and reiterate "it will never happen again", before beginning to decant their love for China and admit "we still have much to learn". The few minutes, immediately viral, end with the word "duibuqi", that is "excuse us", pronounced right in the language of the offended state as a sign of sincere repentance.
Both dressed in black, they bring their mourning, for the missed parade and the problems caused, continuing to do mea culpa for the latest advertising campaign accused of racism, sexism and insensitivity, hoping to smooth the transcontinental disagreements. Will it work?
