The Nike ACG Holiday 2018 collection previewed
A gorpcore collection to keep you warm this winter
November 12th, 2018
A few months ago we reported on the developments at Nike for its technical outdoors line, ACG. All Conditions Gear, which was originally introduced in 1989 as a reaction to the boom in outdoor sports like hiking, climbing, mountain biking and snowboarding which was happening at the time. Saw the creation of a range of footwear, Gore-Tex snow-suits to lightweight windbreakers. The original ACG line had a particular aesthetic, a bit of the street meets the mountain vibe and created a niche for itself. The interest, however, wasn’t seen as big enough to sustain the line's existence and was retired in the latter half of the 90’s. ACG was resurrected in 2014 with the current trend of techwear growing, under the helm of Acronym’s designers Errolson Hugh. This year saw the tables once again turn with the last season of Hugh’s designed ACG and the original range being reintroduced, helped in large part along by the ongoing gorpcore trend.
