Vans Customs Lab debuts in Milan

A unique occasion to customize your Vans sneakers

Vans Customs Lab debuts in Milan A unique occasion to customize your Vans sneakers

For its latest project, Vans has decided to go back to its roots.

In Milan inaugurates today the first Vans Customs Lab, a creative workshop where you can bring your sneakers to customize and personalize them. Customization has always been an important element in the Californian brand's world, which since the opening of its first store back in 1966 has made personalization one of its strong points: the customers could choose between three sample silhouettes that would later be manufactured following their requests, choosing colors and fabrics, creating a totally unique and personal sneaker.

At the lab preview event, we had the chance to meet Aaron O'Sullivan - Vans customs general manager - who told us that the idea was to rebuild a close contact with all the Vans lovers. Even though Vans website dedicates a big section to customization, this project wants to establish a closer relationship with the costumers, who are invited to pass by the store with their sneakers.

After a similar experience at this year's Bread&&Butter, Vans has now come to Milan to launch globally the Customs Lab, that if will be a success, could become an integral part of every Vans store. "Milan is the city of creativity and design, we couldn't choose a better place to inaugurate our project, and for the occasion we collaborated also with students of universities and design schools of the city", continued O'Sullivan.

The Vans Customs Lab is open from today, Friday, November 9, and it will be open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 15 to 19, at the Vans Store Milano in Corso Buenos Aires, 24, totally free.
