Acne Studios are ready with a new round of sneakers for the fall season, sneakers have always been a key accessory of the brand's collections with their iconic models being accompanied by new seasonal novelties. For Autumn / Winter 2018 Acne Studios introduces new styles and colors, including the platform sneakers Drihanna and Adriana, the sneaker-sock Batilda and Tristan, Steffey and Perey with the new lace versions and the new colorways of their iconic 90’s inspired chunky silhouettes Manhattan and Rockaway.
The updated range is accompanied by a new campaign video produced by 90’s multidisciplinary artist Grace Ahlbom.
"While I was in college, my father sent me a box containing videos amateur of my childhood during the 90s, and from there was born mine curiosity towards the VHS. I started filming my friends around New York, turning several short films during college." Grace Ahlbom
Inspired by the recklessness of the 80s and 90s music videos that were shown on MTV, the video is a nostalgic trip through crucial spots in Grace’s New York past, captured on a VHS camcorder for that authentic analog feel. The video shows the Manhattan sneakers starting off in the school courtyards where Grace shot his first video, through to the set where Spike Lee directed his legendary "Do the Right Thing” movie, to finally end up at Tompkins Square Park.
"Shoes are the first thing I look at in a person, and I always manage to understand traits of someone's personality from his shoes." Grace Ahlbom
The new Acne Studio sneakers are available now at Acne online and select Acne Studio retailers.
