Off-White's SS19 theme revealed

Off-White's SS19 theme revealed Virgil Abloh will celebrate a 70s legend

A few days before the Off-White show during the upcoming Paris Fashion Week, Virgil Abloh has unveiled, with a post (now removed) on his Instagram account, the theme of the SS19 men's collection: Dondi White.

After Lady Diana, the designer decides to celebrate another icon, this time of the street art. White, based in New York, was one of the founding fathers of graffiti art in the 70s and 80s, before his death in 1998.

Although Children of the Grave Again, Bishop of Battle and other artworks of the writer have already inspired brands like Supreme and Converse before Off-White, the curiosity to see how these works will be reworked by Abloh remains stellar.

Luckily, the moment of the show is almost here: Off-White's fashion show is scheduled for June 20th during the PFW.

A curiosity: it seems that the collection will support God's Love We Deliver, a charity that is keeping on the Dondi-fashion-charity wave by donating proceeds to this organization, which offers nutritious meals to people in the five NYC districts with serious illnesses.
