A Nike Air Zoom Spiridon ’03 appeared on the web and could not be a random occurrence
Will Nike keep surfing the 2000's wave?
May 9th, 2018
Is the 2000' style, with its hyper tech vibe and and the intense use of unusual color combinations coming back?
The sneakers on the market right now are mostly retro models brought back from the 80’ or the 90’ in new versions or in new colorways, but the 2000's sportswear designs has a sort of problem, they are always recognized as the weirdest ones especially when sneakers are concerned.
Even with this reputation, different 2000’s sneakers are appearing on feet of fashionistas and sneakhead all over the world. We have already talked about a 2003’s model that will probably come back this summer in a Supreme collaboration, the Nike Air Spectrum Plus, but another silhouette straight from 2000’ appeared on the IG page of the American and Japanese store Undefeated. To promote its new summer collection, a pair of grey and red Nike Air Zoom Spiridon ’03 together with a brand's towel and bottle was in the picture, and they look a little bit too fresh for their age.
Could this hypertech sneaker hit the stores again?
The shoes was the technological updated but totally new version of the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon and introduced for the first time the caged Zoom Air, an oversized visible heel unit encased in a Pebax cage. With its iconic look and its synthetic super light materials doesn’t leave any doubts about when Nike create this silhouette.
Let’s see how the American brand will surf the 2000 style throwback wave, expecially if there will be a release of a special Nike Air Spectrum x Supreme.
