Alexander McQueen comes back to life
But at the cinema with an extraordinary and provocative documentary: here is the TEASER
April 19th, 2018
A spectacularization that touches the gloomy, the magical and mysterious gothic world embraces luxury, death becomes fashion. All of this was Alexander McQueen.
The former creative director is dead at the young age of 40, a suicide that left behind it questions that will forever surround the figure of the designer, an artist who became a myth.
The directors Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui will retrace his life in a fascinating and provocative documentary that will be released exclusively on June 7th at the Picturehouse Central in London: a cinematic experience that will go beyond fashion, beyond popularity, to reach what was the philosophy of the British designer, a total immersion in his creative mind. A series of "behind the scenes" films and interviews made exclusively for McQueen's relatives and friends will be placed alongside the docu-film.
These days the highly anticipated teaser has been released which, through a series of quick flashes of fashion shows, performances and plays of shadows, clearly suggests the arrival of an extraordinary work. A leap into the past, in that enigmatic SS 1999 fashion show, made of robots, turntables and the enchanting Shalom Harlow.
“No one discovered Alexander McQueen, McQueen discovered himself".
