Is Virgil Abloh the new creative director of Louis Vuitton? The numerous alarm bells come from Instagram

Christopher Bailey leaves the direction of Burberry and delivers the scepter to Riccardo Tisci;

Hedi Slimane goes to Céline;

Kris Van Assche says "goodbye" to Dior Homme who welcomes visionary Kim Jones.

But...Louis Vuitton?

Who will be the next creative director? Who will be behind its future collections?

Virgil Abloh. Maybe.

Rumors continue to circulate around one of the most talked designers of the last two years, the one who won the Footwear News Achievement Award 2017 thanks to Air Jordan 1, who not only is a designer but also a DJ, an artist and a lecturer at Harvard. Collaborations and success are his daily bread.

But why Louis Vuitton?

The brand since a few weeks ago led by Kim Jones, always synonymous of luxury, tradition and classicism, since last year has begun to take its first steps the world of streetwear, a passage witnessed by the highly acclaimed collection created together with Supreme. An unprecedented partnership.

Another wake-up call is provided by Instagram: Mr. Jones posted a pair of Jordan White from Off-White last January, customized by Virgil: "AIR JONES", "VIRGIL WAS HERE". Clearly the two fashion greats have begun to become friends, and as a result the LV ex director has met the artist Takashi Murakami with whom Abloh is working and setting up an exhibition in Tokyo.

All little tassels added to the rumors suggest that Virgil will be the next creative mind of Louis Vuitton. Now we just have to ask ourselves: if this happens, what changes will it make to the brand? When will it happen? We just have to wait. Stay tuned!
