It’s 2015 when Alessandro Michele discovers the works by Helen Downie aka Unskilled Worker on Instagram and falls in love with their mix of portraits and floral themes to invite the British artist to attend Gucci’s No Longer / Not Yet at the Minsheng Art Museum in Shanghai.
Since then, the artist link with the house has become increasingly tight until it flows now in a capsule exclusive collection which includes 40 elements among clothing, shoes like Princetown slippers and Ace sneakers, handbags like the GG Marmont and shopper with bamboo handles, silk articles and accessories on which are depicted the works of Unskilled Worker.
The launch of the collaboration will be accompanied by a series of works by the artist exhibited in key locations in London, New York, Paris, Milan, and Shanghai. In addition, to celebrate the partnership with the Florentine Maison, Unskilled Worker has painted an exclusive work available to the public for free from on Gucci and on Unskilled Worker, from October 11th.
