IKEA mania and Marco Laganà shoes
The visionary Italian designer that predicted the phenomenon

A few days ago the web went crazy for the Arena Extra-Large Shopper Tote Bag. What are we talking about? About the IKEA's Frakta by Balenciaga. The French Maison, directed by Demna Gvasalia, has, in fact, made a leather bag in the same shape and color as the famous shopper of the Swedish giant and soon became world hit.
There have been a lot of customizations and items made with Frakta and instantly posted on Instagram in the last few weeks. IKEA has become a mania, a mass phenomenon, but there is someone who had somehow predicted this.
We are talking about Marco Laganà, a young Italian shoe designer who starts to produce a collection inspired by IKEA from 2016. Presented in June 2016 at Pitti, his clothes are an interpretation of how consumerism and identification in the mass brands (related to fashion or not are now part of our society.
With irony and creativity, Marco Laganà was a mirror for the world, anticipating what would then have been reflected.
