Gigi Hadid's passion for photography is not a surprise. After her campaign for Versus Versace not as a model, but as photographer, Gigi has definitively crowned her passion with a publishing entirely dedicated to her photos.

It will be titled The Gigi Journal and is a “pop-up publishing” for V Magazine, a special supplement of the magazine who will feature, for the Summer issue, the 22-years-old model's shots.

“I'm constantly taking photos of people who I love, who inspire me who make me laugh, who turn work days into adventures, who I appreciate, and who I want to celebrate. This journal is a small piece of that collection; the people and faces that make up my everlasting fashion tour... through my eyes”,

Gigi Hadid explained, introducing her project as an intimate photo diary about her personal and work life. In fact, inside the publishing we will find shots of the young actresses Jemima Kirke and Sasha Lane, but also of the photographers Inez & Vinoodh and Patrick Demarchelier, and the fashion designers Alessandro Michele, Marc Jacobs and Karl Lagerfeld, while the role of cover star was given to Nicki Minaj, captured in three polaroids lying on a red velvet sofa wearing a fur.

It's not the first time that Gigi Hadid holds a camera for V Magazine. Last September the model has shot some polaroids during the Paris Fashion Week exclusive for the New york magazine. In fact, it appears that the young It Girl made a very good impression on Stephen Gan, editor-in-chief of the magazine and the one who launched her modeling career. During an interview with Business of Fashion, Gan spoke openly about Gigi Hadid and the photo-project she suggested him last Autumn, saying:

“When you think of what she represents in this digital era, when you have someone like that saying, 'I love the idea of there being only one original print to this image as opposed to a digital file,' that’s a paradox, right? As young as she is, she has conviction about things. That’s rare”.

Not only that, he also expressed his fascination in these “pop-up” publishings, regarded as the creative zeitgeist of our time, by which collaborate and experiment with external artists – "These sort of projects, like the Gigi Journal, can happen more frequently and at a more rapid pace”.

The Gigi Journal is now available for order on V shop.
