Louis Vuitton and Jeff Koons together for a capsule collection
Masters is the perfect marriage between fashion and art with a Duchamp-esque flavor
April 11th, 2017
Fashion and art team up once again for an exclusive collection. This time the star is the artist Jeff Koons who designed for Louis Vuitton a capsule collection of accessories in limited edition titled Masters.
Referring to the concept of his work Gazing Ball, Koons "copied-and-pasted" some of the most famous works of the art history. And so, the Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, the Rubens' Tiger Hunt and some other paint masterpieces are now printed on the iconic Louis Vuitton's Speedy Bag or on a trendy leather bag-pack. Not only that, the accessories are decorated with the painters' names wrote with metal letters and with a redesigned monogram of LV, that for the occasion includes also the initials JK of the artist.
An irreverent and ironically pop capsule collection as only Jeff Koons can do, who use without shame of other artists' art works to give rise to a sort of glamorous Ready-Made.
The collection will be available on April 28 .
