Opening Ceremony celebrates the diversity of American immigrants in its SS17

While Donald Trump erects walls against anyone different from him, Opening Ceremony celebrates that same diversity with its SS17 collection inspired by the travels of American immigrants.

Carol Lim and Humberto Leon overlap traditions, cultures, styles. They take inspiration from the Baltic traditions, blending feminine silhouettes and masculine details, decorations, and accents from folk mood with modern asymmetry. The Japanese kimono is full of prints documenting travel adventures, traditional embroidery Croatian is reinterpreted with a geometric zigzag rather than with the typical floral pattern.
