Givenchy's homage to Riccardo Tisci
Twenty-seven iconic models created by the Italian designers, proposed in crimson red
March 7th, 2017
No fashion show. No Instagram. No new creative director. No FW collection.
Only a beautiful crimson wave.
In front of carefully selected members of the international press, Givenchy says "adieu" to Riccardo Tisci, creative director from 2005 until a few weeks ago, and celebrates the designer's work reissuing in bright red 27 iconic pieces created by him. Givenchy's style department, orphan of a conductor, draws from its DNA and from 12 years full of wonderful look, born from this Italian talent's creativity, who brought back the French label in the spotlight of the international contemporary fashion.
The chosen pieces? The famous Bambi sweatshirt, the T-shirt with the face of the Madonna, bodysuits, embroidered evening gowns, riding boots to the knee, skirts with ruffles, fluid pants, tuxedo jackets, coats. Each look will be sold with a tag stating the season in which it originated and will be available in black and nude.
How we bet that collectors, as they try to guess who will be the successor to the throne Tisci at Givenchy - the latest rumors indicate McColloug Jack and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler -, are already dreaming of owning this all red non-collection?
