Diesel chooses Gosha Rubchinskiy.
After Shayne Oliver and Glenn Martens, the Russian designer will reinterpret the DNA of Renzo Rosso's brand in the third chapter of Diesel red tag. The result of the new partnership will be presented not with a simple fashion show, but with a real artistic performance on May 9 in Venice, on the occasion of the opening of the Art Biennale. Subsequently, the collaboration will be distributed by Tomorrow London, a fashion platform offering advice to innovative brands. For Rubchinskiy it is an important comeback an attempt to get back into play after the scandal that had struck him a couple of months ago when he was accused of child pornography for having mistaken and misappropriated messages with a minor boy contacted for a casting. The collaboration with Diesel red tag arrives even after the closure of its namesake brand launched in 2008. Despite the great success and the hype obtained thanks to the captivating mix of sportswear and post-Soviet aesthetics, Gosha announced on April 4th the end of that adventure, writing on his official Instagram account:
“We will stop Gosha Rubchinskiy brand as you’ve know it. We will have no more seasonal collections. Instead something new is coming.”
With these words, the designer announced the revolution within his label, without further details. Just a few weeks ago, he unveiled that his new project is called GR-Uniforma, will debut next March 16 in the Dover Street Market and will not only be in fashion, but will be a hybrid between photography, video, film, performance and music.
The curiosity about what will be the future of Gosha grows more and more.
