Unsimulated Sex in movies
Our top 10
September 13th, 2016
A film is said successful if it manages to give the viewer the illusion that what is happening on screen is real. The greater the accuracy of a film, the better the emotions aroused in the mind of the spectator.
It is no coincidence that, even with regard to the love scenes, the cinema industry has gradually shifted from the 50s’ pecks on the lips to today’s unfiltered sex scenes.
Andy Warhol inaugurated the ‘unsimulated sex’ phenomenon in 1960 with his Blue Movie, an experimental film without written plot, where the two protagonists alternate conversations about the Vietnam War and sex scenes in their New York apartment.
Since then, numerous directors have cleared sex scenes on the big screen, and as many actors have preferred real performances to body doubles.
We selected the 10 best contemporary films in which the sex scenes are all, absolutely, real.
