The first Museum of Ice Cream opens in NY
From July 29 to August 31, 2016
July 14th, 2016
Imagine Willy Wonka's factory. Not chocolate, but ice cream version: a chocolate room, a swing designed like an ice cream spoon, a swimming pool completely filled with rainbow sprinkles.
For a month, from July 29 to August 31, this dreamlike place comes true: the Museum of Ice Cream is opening in Manhattan.
Here, in New York's meatpacking district, next to the Whitney Museum and a few blocks from Ground Zero, designers, artists and the best ice cream shops of the city – including Black Tap, Oddfellows, Ice Cream Co – will showcase their creations, providing visitors with an experience more lick- able and likeable as possible.
In this sweet paradise there will be an enormous human sundae, Dr. Irwin Adam’s experiments, founder of Future Food Studio, to find the ice cream of the future, edible balloons, ice cream sandwiches to ride and even an app like Tinder to find your favourite taste.
The opening day on July 29 will be free for everyone. Then, the Museum will be open every day except Tuesday at a cost of $18 per person, ice cream included. More info on www.museumoficecream.com.
