Celebration of a graphic designer
Eduardo Paolozzi @YSP Centre, West Bretton
March 10th, 2016
He has Italian origins but was born and raised in Leith, a northern district of Edinburgh. Eduardo Paolozzi was noted soon after his studies at the Slade School of Art in London and was one of the founders of the Independent Group, forerunner of British Pop Art in the '60s.
His collages used to upset critics, who were amazed by the way a single artist managed to combine so many different styles in one perfectly organic canvas.
Merging several movements such as Surrealism, Dadaism and Pop Art is a hard work, and Paolozzi was known exactly for his bold style. A new exhibition at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park celebrates the artistic inspiration of Paolozzi and his works of printed graphics, characterised by incomparable beauty and very modern taste.
Eduardo Paolozzi 2016 Exhibition, from March 12 until June 12 @Yorkshire Sculpture Park, West Bretton.
