The Illusive eye

Art has done, in a Platonic sense, of its form its mean of communication: from an idea or a meaning arriving to a sign, realistic or stylized. These "forms" have been gradually weakened and synthesized, carrying the concepts in the form of lines.
El Museo del Barrio in New York presents Illusive Eye, a collection of works that tell us a century of art consisting of abstract forms and lines, which create an optical or kinetic illusion. Religion, philosophy, sociology, take advantage of this medium, and are combined with these essential and geometric images since the '60s. An intellectual game, which led the creative community to be a little more elitist and not "understood" by everyone.
Illusive Eye - from Feb. 3 to May 21, 2016 at El Museo del Barrio, NYC.
