From Home Alone to Edward Shissorhands
December 10th, 2015
Often snubbed by the purists of the sector, the Christmas movies are and will forever be a must of the winter holidays. They warm our hearts with simple stories and bring on the screen examples of unconditioned love and conviviality.
Over the years, many directors dealt with the genre, giving birth to productions with very different styles: from choral and hilarious comedies to animation films for the littlest ones (liked by adults, too). We selected 10, to (re)watch in order to wake up your Christmas spirit:
#1 Home Alone (1990) – Chris Columbus
#2 A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965) – Bill Melendez
#3 Edward Shissorhands (1991) – Tim Burton
#4 Miracle on 34th Street (1947) – George Seaton
#5 A Christmas Carol (2009) – Robert Zemeckis
#6 The Nightmare before Christmas (1993) – Henry Selick
#7 Little Lord Fauntleroy (1980) – Jack Gold
#8 How the Grinch stole Christmas (2000) – Ron Howard
#9 Richie Rich's Christmas Wish (1998) – John Murlowski
#10 Jack Frost (1998) – Troy Miller
