Shepard Fairey - #OBEY
In mostra al PAN di Napoli
December 2nd, 2014
It all started as a joke, by an adhesive made in 1989 when Fairey was a student of art: the project "Obey" over time it has evolved to become one of the most established phenomena of street art and one of the most innovative clothing brands . Inspired by the graphic world of skateboarding, punk and hip-hop, Obey Clothing has carved out an important place in the art scene and streetwear world, imposing its own style, provocative and full of humor, original but always recognizable.
Naples offers a valuable opportunity to see live this artistic phenomenon, it will be about one hundred works of street artists on display at the South Carolina Pan, Palazzo delle Arti Napoli Palazzo Roccella, Via dei Mille, from December 6 to 28 February .
The exhibition, sponsored by the cultural Milan Password Onlus, with the staging of Cuccaro Lab '70, the Caserta Enzo Cuccaro, curated by Massimo Sgroi and in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism of the City of Naples, port for the first time in an Italian museum works by Obey. Among these "Capitol Hill", the monumental canvas never before exhibited, more numerous works from private collections that will make up a course that aims to tell the stylistic evolution of the American artist.
Save the date!
