Dior and Daniel Arsham together for a capsule of art objects
The works are numbered and inspired by Arsham's artworks for Dior's SS20 show
March 6th, 2020
The collaboration between Dior and the artist Daniel Arsham continues with a capsule of limited-edition art objects. The objects are reminiscent of Arsham's Future Relics series and are inspired by the sculptures made by the artist for Dior's SS20 show of last June. Each of the artworks was handcrafted in Arsham's studio in plaster concrete and quartz crystals.
Arsham's series of works includes sculpted letters that create the Dior name, a phone, a basketball, a clock and a reproduction of founder Christian Dior's book Je Suis Couturier. All the sculptures have that artificial erosion that has now become Arsham's signature and are delivered in boxes that feature the Dior Oblique motif modelled to resemble the vintage wooden containers used for special deliveries and It also includes an hourglass and a pair of white gloves, as well as a certificate of authenticity.
The Dior and Daniel Arsham collection is available at select Dior boutiques that you can find on the dedicated page of the brand's official website. On Dior's website, the letters D.I.O.R., produced in only 250 copies, are currently available along with the eroded book, which was made in a hundred copies. The price of both is 9,500$.
