Dan Alcala è un dj, produttore e remixer di New York.

Dan ha cominciato a remixare alla fine del 2007, dopo essersi trasferito da Boston a New York, dove ha appena finito la scuola di design. Con buone basi di Ableton Live, monitor KRK e una tastiera midi economica, ha imparato a produrre da autodidatta. Come DJ ha suonato in alcuni dei top club di Boston come Avalon e Rise dall'età di 22 anni.

Ha vinto e ha ricevuto elogi per i suoi numerosi remix. Il suo bootleg per M83 della traccia Midnight City ha ricevuto oltre 100.000 visualizzazioni su Youtube, 20.000 visualizzazioni e più di 5.000 download su Soundcloud.

Il suo remix bootleg dei Crystal Castles ,Celestica, ha raggiunto il 21esimo posto su Hypemachine come traccia più popolare e gli è stato chiesto dalla band di essere incluso come bonus track su una riedizione australiana dell'album Crystal Castles II.

Il remix per la traccia di Uffie & Pharrell, Add Suv, sponsorizzato dai Burn Studios, invece è stato descritto dagli stessi come Remix della settimana. Ha collezionato 4 remix di Daft Punk così come altri artisti come Foster the People, Major Lazer, Röyksopp, Metric, Hot Pink Delorean, Kavinsky e molti altri. Questi remix sono stati presenti su blog quali il Tilt, The Burning Era, Tracasseur, Mad Decent, Boom Boom Chik, Cause Time, Culture Bully , Umstrum Music, White Label Nation, Feral Pary Kids, Young Creature, POSTMUSIC e altri ancora.

Dan Alcala began remixing at the end of 2007, after moving to New York from Boston where he just finished design school. With a basic set up of Ableton Live, KRK monitors and a cheap midi keyboard, he taught himself the basics of production. As a DJ he played some of Boston's top clubs like Avalon and Rise by the age of 22.

He has won and received high praise for his numerous remixes. His bootleg for M83's Midnight City has received over 100,000 plays on Youtube, 20,000 plays and over 5,000 downloads on Soundcloud in addition to the master being asked to be serviced and distributed by Mute.

In typical fashinon, his bootleg remix of Crystal Castles Celestica reached #21 on the Hypemachine's Most Popular Songs and was asked by the band to be included as a bonus song on an Australian re-release of the album 'Crystal Castles II.
