Eastpak Artist Studio 2016 is here
12 designer internazionali reinterpretano l'iconico Padded Pak'r
21 Novembre 2016
Looking forward to discovering the works of Eastpak Artist Studio 2016? The wait is over. You can now see the first creations by Kenzo, Vetements and Christopher Raeburn. The deluxe project signed Eastpak is back, and, as usual, the entire incomes from its sales are destined to the charity Designers Against AIDS.
Twelve world-famous designers customise the iconic backpack Padded Pak'r, a symbol of 80s and 90s' international style. Each piece is unique and you can buy it through an online bid, starting from 500€, from 1 December, to celebrate World AIDS Day. There is Kenzo combining functionality and surprise, creating a collage of US brand's forms, decorated with a mix of typical prints by Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, while Christopher Raeburn reinterpreted the backpack "Remade Orangutan"in a minimalist way, with a zero waste output. Vetements, instead, customises the Eastpak backpack by introducing its distinctive elements and other oversize ones as the shoulder straps and exaggeratedly large handle that, viewed from behind, forms a red ribbon, the universal symbol of the fight against AIDS.
Curious to know more about other Padded Pak'r? Soon online also the creations of Nicopanda, Giambattista Valli, Ami Paris, Wanda Nylon, House Of Holland, Jacquemus, Alexandre Vauthier, Inan and Zeba Safdar, the designer won the Wildcard Competition.
