Felicity Grandsen first collection

Felicity Gransden studia Fashion Design Technology Womenswear al London College of Fashion, ma basta dare uno sguardo al suo lavoro per capire che la ragazza farà strada. Dopo un’internship da Mary Katrantzou, realizza “Never too old to play dress up” che, come suggerisce il nome, è un omaggio a quelle persone che, pur essendo avanti con gli anni, continuano a sperimentare con il loro stile. In particolare l’ispirazione di Felicity è la nonna con il suo look vivace, fatto di stampe colorate e mix di texture diverse.

La designer inizia così un’esplorazione che parte dalla sua famiglia e passa poi attraverso personaggi iconici ed eccentrici come Iris Apfel ed Ilona Royce Smithkin. La collezione che ne deriva ha tutte le caratteristiche stilistiche di queste signore modaiole: colori accesi, accessori maxi, combinazioni di tessuti e volumi differenti. Il risultato è una collezione vistosa, eccessiva, di bombers pieni di ruches, stampe grafiche e tessuti in lamè, il primo passo di una, speriamo, lunga carriera.

Felicity Gransden studies Fashion Design Technology at the London College of Fashion, but one glance at her work to understand that the girl will lead the way. After an internship at Mary Katrantzou, she realizes “Never too old to play dress up”, a tribute to the old people continuing to experiment with their style. Particularly the inspiration of Felicity comes from  her grandmother, who has a vibrant look, made of colorful prints and mix of different textures.

The designer starts, in this way, an exploration, starting from her family and, then, through some iconic and eccentric persons like Iris Apfel and Ilona Royce Smithkin. The collection, for these reasons, has all the characteristics of style typical of that fashion ladies: bright colors, maxi accessories, combinations of different fabrics and volumes. The result is a flashy, excessive collection, with bomber jackets full of ruffles, graphic prints and lame. It’s the first step, we hope, of a long carrier.
