Yvonne Kwok SS 2013 collection

L’olandese Yvonne Kwok debutta con una collezione primavera-estate che la fa arrivare fra i finalisti della London Graduate Fashion Week nella sezione Best International Collection. Le marionette, il carnevale e la cultura punk sono le fonti d’ispirazione della giovane designer. La sua moda è colorata, divertente, è un gioco in cui le ragazze, il suo ideale è la cantante Grimes, si vestono come guerriere dell’antica Roma pronte a lottare per affermare la propria identità col sorriso sulle labbra. Le caratteristiche di questa linea sono silhouette destrutturata, la presenza diffusa di lacci e pieghe. Il mix di tinte pastello ed altre fluo, è enfatizzato dall’ uso del neoprene, tessuto hi-tech che Kwok con abilità combina con altri, tra cui il cartone ricamato. Pur essendo moderna, questa collezione per la prossima estate conserva grande sapienza artigianale, che rende ogni capo unico. Sicuramente Yvonne Kwok realizza creazioni allegre, giocose, ma anche curate nei minimi dettagli. Un esempio? Le spille da balia colorate che rimandano alla cultura punk, qui rivista in chiave My little pony.

The Dutch Yvonne Kwok debuts with a spring-summer collection that does get in the finals of the London Graduate Fashion Week in the Best International Collection section. The puppets, the carnival and the punk culture are the sources of inspiration for the young designers. His style is colorful, fun, it's a game where the girls, his ideal is the singer Grimes, dress up as warriors of ancient Rome ready to fight for its own identity with a smile. The characteristics of this line are unstructured silhouette, the widespread presence of laces and pleats. The mix of pastel tones and other fluo, is emphasized by  the use of neoprene, hi-tech fabric which skillfully combines Kwok with others, including the cardboard embroidered. Although modern, this collection for next summer retains great craftsmanship, that makes each item unique. Yvonne Kwok certainly makes creations cheerful, playful, but also with attention to detail.
