Maia Norman, direttore creativo del brand inglese Mother of Pearl, ama collaborare con artisti diversi per ogni collezione.

La scelta per questo autunno è il pittore newyorkese Fred Tomaselli, famoso per i collages su pannelli di legno ricoperti da strati di resina lucida.

La collezione unisce, così, caleidoscopiche stampe alla raffinata sartoriale declinata con la modernità dello sportswear.

I soggetti che animano i capi sono uccelli esotici, fiori, farfalle e variopinte geometrie, tutti tratti da opere dell’artista come Millenium Phosphene Bloom, Hang Over o Night Music for Raptors.

Mother of Pearl presenta pantaloni dalla gamba larga e altri sportivi, gonne sia a pieghe sia lunghe fino ai piedi, trench, camicie e maglioncini, sui quali dominano il casual ed il confortevole.

La pelle è l’elemento principe insieme alle stampe inventate da Tomaselli.

Il risultato è un caleidoscopio di abiti moderni, sportivi, comodi, ma che non rinunciano ad essere cool.

The choice for this autumn is the painter from New York Fred Tomaselli, famous for the collages on wooden panels covered in layers of polished resin.

The collection unites, in this way, kaleidoscopic prints with refined tailoring declined with sportswear modernity.

The subjects, animating the items, are exotic birds, flowers, butterflies and multicolored geometries, all taken from artist’s works like Millenium Phosphene Bloom, Hang Over o Night Music for Raptors.

Mother of Pearl presents voluminous wide-leg pants and other more sporty, skirts both pleated and feet-length, trenches, shirts and sweaters, on which casual and comfortable rule.

Leather is the main element toghether with the prints created by Tomaselli.

The result is a kaleidoscope of modern, sporty, comfortable, but also cool dresses.
