8 memories of Steven Gerrard
Farewell to football by the Merseyside's legend
November 25th, 2016
Player, champion and supporter. After 29 years, Steven Gerrard officially retired from football, ending a legendary career with only one shirt on. The relationship between the number 8 and Liverpool have always been more than just professional. It’s a love story, which has begun in 1980 when Gerrard born in the heart of Merseyside.
710 games, 186 goals and 11 trophies and now Gerrard is ready to face a new challenge. Between his love story with Liverpool, he had just a brief adventure in the USA, following the footsteps of another legendary English player, David Beckham. And of course, all the challenges with the Three Lions, even if one of the most beloved mottos of Liverpool supporters is “We’re not English, we’re Scouse”.
The relationship between Gerrard and Liverpool fans has never vacillated. Neither when Gerrard himself provoked Demba Ba goal against Chelsea, dooming the Reds to defeat, both of the game and the title. Everyone is curious about Stevie G’s new adventure, but one thing is certain. It will be of the same old red colour.
