Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli have been playing for Juventus football club respectively since 2010 and January 2011. Wearing the black and white jersey, the two defenders have racked up respectively 284 and 205 appearances, and, over the last five years, they have won five championships, three Italian Super Cups (2012, 2013, 2015) and two Italian Cups (2014/15, 2015/16). Also, Barzagli’s career is enhanced by the victory of Germany’s World Championship in 2006. Along with Chiellini the two are known as BBC, acronym used to describe the strongest defensive trio in Italy (and among the bests in Europe).
Saturday night the Juventus Stadium will host Napoli, ranked third. If for Higuain it won't be an easy game for obvious reasons, also Naples' strikers will also face strong opposition by the BBC.
You do not win a championship by chance, imagine five, one after the other. Andrea Barzagli from Fiesole and Leonardo Bonucci from Viterbo showed us how victory can become a rule, never let your guard down. A few days from Juventus - Napoli, the two defenders among the best in the world star in the new video produced by Nike Football, and appeal directly to young aspiring footballers. In the video, the images of the two players engaged in a training session are accompanied by their voiceovers, which lay down the basic concepts of preparation and sacrifice during the week, because that's where you build a true champion. Never take anything for granted.
Mind’s soundness
"Don't think that in Serie A there are only champion - says Barzagli - In Serie A there are players who are mentally one hundred years ahead of others.”
Mutual respect
"We must always think that football is fun - adds Bonucci - It's really important that we pay respect to each others, because this is the basis of all success both individually and an group.”
Weaknesses
"There are no easy workouts, nor in youth soccer teams, nor in Serie A, nor in National Soccer Team, because the coach will always be there to observe you. You must deal with your weaknesses day by day.”(Bonucci)
Work and confidence
"First you gotta train hard to earn your place in the team, then you gotta train hard to keep it. In training, you learn to know yourself. There are no excuses, talent comes with hard work. And then you get the trust and respect of your companions.”(Barzagli)
The video is part of the project Nike Academy Milan, thanks to which Nike provides the opportunity for young people to take advantage of free services as well as working with professional coaches and some of the best players in Serie A.
