The Real Madrid Away jersey turns orange
For the first time since the season of "La Decima"
July 22nd, 2024
July is coming to an end, and there are only three weeks left until the start of LaLiga. The excitement to see Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid in action is sky-high, especially thanks to the signing of Kylian Mbappé and Endrick. Today, the Blancos and adidas launch the new Away jersey for the 2024/25 season in an unusual orange color that hasn't been seen in Madrid since the 2013/2014 season. The club crest and the Three Stripes logo are present in the classic oversized dimensions that the brand has been favoring lately with the release of new season jerseys. As for the overall aesthetic of the jersey, the most important detail is the zigzag pattern that embellishes the entire front area. This is also the first jersey unveiled in a campaign featuring Kylian Mbappé, the new number 9 of the Blancos, who is tasked with living up to the legacy of forwards like Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The choice of color is not casual: with a similar jersey, exactly 11 years ago, Real Madrid won "La Decima" thanks to the incredible performances of the Portuguese star. This is a symbolic way to invite the Frenchman wing to repeat the records set by CR7. Unlike the home jersey, the Real Madrid crest appears in an all-black variant on the away jersey. This season, adidas has made particularly ambiguous choices regarding the colors and styles of the crests of the teams it sponsors. In addition to the oversized dimensions, Arsenal has chosen to revert to the old cannon; Bayern Munich, just like last season, does not feature the logo in its original color even in the Home version; finally, Real Madrid will play with the classic crest color on the Home version, opting for a different one on the Away version. The Blancos only need the Third jersey to complete their seasonal set, which is eagerly awaited due to the adidas Trefoil logo.
