adidas releases the Lyon Away jersey Back to black

Olympique Lyon, which recently completed the signing of Georges Mikautadze, one of the pleasant surprises of Euro2024, unveils the new Away jersey for the 2024/25 season. Signed by adidas, the technical sponsor that has been with the French team for 14 years, it traditionally debuts in two different versions, one for the men's team and one for the women's team. The men's team will play with the commercial sponsor Fly Emirates, while the women's team will display the Mastercard logo. The example of Lyon continues to be significant in how the choice of a sponsor can change the aesthetic value of a jersey. Moreover, the choice of dual sponsors for Olympique Lyon has now become a true strategy to accelerate fan engagement, with fans regularly rushing to the club's Instagram comments to express their preference.

The new Away jersey stands out with a tone-on-tone pattern repeated throughout the jersey, representing a major novelty for OL. The club had presented the Home version of the jersey well in advance, even on May 15. Furthermore, the release of the shirt confirms that the club will permanently abandon the crest seen last season on the Away jersey, used by the French club from 1989 to 1996, a very interesting detail that would have been perfect and consistent with adidas' choices. In fact, the Three Stripes brand will focus on the old Trefoil logo for the Third jerseys of some clubs, among which Lyon might not be included.

The jersey is available on adidas' e-commerce and on Lyon's e-commerce.
