The AS Roma Home jersey is a tribute to Testaccio

The AS Roma has presented the Home jersey made by adidas that will accompany the "giallorossi" throughout the 2024/25 season. A kit that takes direct inspiration from historical material found in recent years and collected in the archives of Trigoria and from the first field where Roma ever played: Campo Testaccio. The chosen color is in fact the red used for the season tickets for the 1933/34 season, one of the first for the "giallorossa" society, and one of the oldest memorabilia linked to the history of Roma. A rich red that is bordered in the jersey by the same gold used for the writings on the season ticket, and that in the Home jersey creates a light vertical pinstripe in addition to the details on the collar and sleeves. The AS Roma writing on the season ticket has instead been used to personalize the backneck.

As already done with the national teams for Euro2024, adidas has decided to bring back one of its most recognizable templates, the Teamgeist. Even the AS Roma Home jersey follows this model, with tone-on-tone inserts on the sides and shoulders, while the back is characterized by the semicircular panel that frames the player's last name and jersey number. The font chosen for these last ones reveals a small surprise. In fact, the gold of the print hides the map of the Testaccio neighborhood, where Roma played from its foundation until 1940. A story, that links the "giallorossa" team to one of the most iconic working-class neighborhoods of the city that has not been interrupted with the abandonment of Campo Testaccio, on the contrary. That piece of land has become a place of the soul for all the "giallorossi" fans who still remember it today, even though they have never seen it, singing it in one of the chants that marks the beginning of the matches at the Olympic Stadium.
