What went down at the "Ho Visto Maradona" documentari premiere

On July 5, 1984, Diego Armando Maradona stepped on the turf of the then Naples Olympic Stadium for the first time in the guise of a new Napoli player. That moment changed the city's recent history forever. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of that day, nss presented a series of initiatives to pay homage to the bond between Naples and Diego, telling how years later he is still, more than before, a myth and icon.

The celebrations of this anniversary began on Thursday, July 4, in Piazza San Pasquale, where the photo book "Maradona Tatuato", a volume that collects the stories of those who chose to imprint a memory of the Argentine legend on their skin, was presented by nss newsstand. Also presented during the event was the new shirt from the "J'Adore Napoli" collection inspired by the PUMA t-shirt worn by Diego on the day of his presentation. However, that very first day in Naples was the focus of the documentary "Ho Visto Maradona," screened at Largo Maradona on Friday, July 5, and produced by nss and Mentality Media.

Lhe story traces Diego's first hours in Naples through the voices of those who experienced that day up close. The documentary screened in the symbolic place of the relationship between D10S and Naples, in the heart of the Quartieri Spagnoli, was a moment of reflection on the relationship between the footballer and the city, which has changed in recent years also thanks to Diego, as confirmed by the many protagonists of the documentary, accompanied by archival photographic materials provided by Archivio Carbone and Sergio Siano.

Among the documentary's protagonists are Nico Nicois, the famous reporter who took the very first photo of Maradona through a reckless motorcycle chase, continuing with the involvement of journalist Antonio Corbo, photojournalist Sergio Siano but also Paolo Jannelli - the orthopedist who visited Diego - up to Antonio "Bostik" Esposito, the janitor of the current Largo Maradona, former ultras leader of the Teste Matte group and among the founders of the famous Maradona Murales. It was a unique journey into Maradona's life and the first time Largo Maradona hosted a cultural review dedicated to his Argentine idol. Between pizza, music screenings and a lot of emotion, from the windows of the buildings to the streets, many followed the documentary, an act of love for Diego and Naples.
