The Virtus Segafredo Bologna has chosen adidas as its new technical sponsor starting from the 2024/25 season. The announcement was made by the CEO of the V nere, Luca Baraldi, at a press conference held yesterday at the team's facility in Bologna, where they also announced updates on season tickets for Serie A and Euroleague. "We are pleased to announce the new agreement with adidas. This partnership represents a new and important chapter for Virtus Segafredo Bologna, which aims to constantly position itself among the top basketball clubs in Europe" said Baraldi at the end of the conference. Virtus Bologna thus ends its relationship with Macron to join forces with one of the most active brands in European basketball at the highest levels. The Three Stripes are in fact the sponsor of the two finalists of the last Euroleague, Panathinaikos and Real Madrid, as well as other prestigious clubs and the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament. We spoke with Alberto Uncini Manganelli, GM Running and Credibility Sports adidas and a big Virtus fan, about this important new partnership for Italian basketball.

"We can say that it was born from an intuition and a series of contacts with local teams who are always very attentive to which sports organizations to collaborate with, and in these conversations the opportunity to collaborate with Virtus Bologna arose. Clearly, they found in me a great supporter, being from Bologna and a Virtus fan, but that's not the determining factor, and it should never be. However, there is definitely a personal emotional aspect that is tied to this announcement today", explains Uncini Manganelli, who tries to separate his personal and professional spheres. However, the agreement between Virtus and adidas definitely shifts the balance of Italian basketball towards a European identity. "In basketball, Virtus Bologna represents excellence in Italy and the city of Bologna is very attentive to sports. There is a great affinity, a great focus and a great passion for this sport thanks to a strong fan base. We strongly believe in this and in common values for innovation and performance, for attention to athletes, and for improving the fan experience. On all these topics, we immediately found a common focus".
