Umbro is a sportswear brand distinguished by a unique history. Even more than some of its competitors, it has played a significant role in every chapter of the consolidation of the relationship between clothing and football. In the 1990s, with the spread of the terrace culture, the Umbro logo was a favorite among avid attendees of English stadium stands. Later, with the explosion of collaborations between football clubs and fashion brands, Umbro entered at the right time by working on football-inspired collections with partners such as Aries, Palace Skateboards, and Supreme, along with collaborations with football clubs, both professional and amateur. The items of the new Centenary SS24 collection draw inspiration from its heritage, rich in history and unforgettable design.
Therefore, the garments of the collection do not hide the football background that Umbro has been nourishing for 100 years. The set composed of Anthem Jacket and Track Pant is inspired by the pre-match uniform used in the 1990s by Manchester United footballers, while the long sleeve jersey characterized by the "Sunday Football" graphic recalls the colors of the jerseys made by Umbro for the Scottish National Football Team from 1978 to 1999. The selection of garments does not end here; in fact, in addition to the aforementioned items, there is the Cabana Set, which includes a short-sleeved shirt that directly refers to the territorial relationship between Umbro and the north of Manchester, thanks to a vibrant pattern that evokes the atmosphere of the city.
