The year 2023 has undoubtedly been unforgettable for fans of Fluminense: the conquest of the Copa Libertadores with a 2-1 victory over Boca Juniors, featuring goals by Cavani, allowed the Rio de Janeiro club to add another trophy to its collection. To commemorate this unforgettable season, Umbro Brazil has created a special jersey paying homage to an important aspect of football—music. Music, including stadium chants and traditional songs, directly contributes to the creation of a club's brand identity. Fluminense fans were asked to choose a song from the Fluminense tradition, and the most voted one was Eterno campeão. Its verses have been distributed across the main areas of the jersey, thanks to a design created by Killa Villa, an artist known for the intersection of hip-hop and football.
The shirt is entirely in burgundy, one of the team's social colors from Rio de Janeiro, and is characterized by green details on both the collar and sleeves. The song's lyrics, constantly sung in the Maracanã stands, are not the only detail that stands out on the jersey. The verses are surrounded by veins of different shades, symbolizing the blood flowing in the veins of Brazilian fans. "This is another very special collection that demonstrates our connection with the stands and all fan bases, as significant partners in creating uniforms and the history of clubs. We know that fans are the great heritage of clubs, and honoring Fluminense's greatest driving force in the world is another responsibility we face with this nation," added Eduardo Dal Pogetto, National Director of Umbro's Brazilian department.
