Spezia's new logo has caused much discussion among fans in recent weeks, and as with any rebranding, there are those in favor of the change and those who regret the old one. Next season the Ligurian team will have to try to return to Serie A, and as of a few hours ago they also have new home shirts, the first with the new crest, presented by Kappa with shots of the port of La Spezia in the background.
In keeping with tradition, Spezia's home shirt is white, with a collar with black details and the Omini di Kappa inscribed on the chest and sleeves. Also on the chest is the patch commemorating the National Division title won in the 1943/44 season. All over the shirt, from left to right, run light grey stripes. A hidden detail of the kit is the inscription printed on the inside of the collar with a quote from Paolo Ponzo, a former Spezia player who passed away ten years ago, which reads 'every player who wears this jersey must feel on the one hand honored, and on the other strongly responsible for what he represents'. Also on the back of the collar is the title of the Spezia team anthem, a message that unites the team and fans: 'You are not alone'. The Away kit differs only in the color scheme, it is gold which contrasts with the basic black of the whole kit, while the tricolor is placed in small print on the collar.
