The Jordan Brand collection for Quai 54's 20th anniversary
A tribute to streetball culture and everything that comes with it
June 26th, 2023
Basketball, hip-hop, and street culture rolled into one. Since 2003, Quai 54 has been the Mecca for streetball enthusiasts, and Jordan Brand is making sure that the tournament’s 20th anniversary is one to remember. First dropped at the Nike Paris House of Innovation on June 23rd, the Quai 54 20-year celebratory collection pays tribute to the contest’s rich history, while also building significant hype for the upcoming tournament.
Jerseys, t-shirts, shorts, tank tops, caps, and of course, sneakers: a mix of lifestyle and performance, suitable for every type of basketball fan. The collection is dominated by this year’s tournament theme colors red, black, and green, while a stylized version of the Roman numerals “XX” was recently revealed to be the official logo, and will appear on all items of this collection to give it a clear identity and commemorate such a historic year for Quai 54.
The Jordan Brand x Quai 54 collaboration has seen numerous sneaker creations over the years, and for the 2023 tournament, the chosen silhouettes are the Air Jordan 1 Lows, the Air Jordan 2 Lows, and the Air Jordan Luka 2s. Like the 2018 AJ 3s or the AJ1s from 2017 before them, these models are destined to enter the history books and reinforce Quai 54’s legendary status within the basketball community. The collection, similar to the tournament itself, puts Parisian-African diaspora and African-American culture at its very center, feeding the competition’s spirit.
“We are very grateful for the support we have received from Jordan Brand, both for their contribution to the event and for giving us the opportunity to collaborate in the creation of original collections”, declared Thibault de Longeville, creative director and co-founder of Quai 54 “Commemorating the 20th anniversary with this collection seemed to us like the perfect way to celebrate the heritage, energy, and vibrancy of Quai 54’s community”.
