Barcelona will play with the Senyera jersey again next season
The Blaugrana will continue to use this year's fourth jersey
May 25th, 2023
Barcelona's Senyera jersey, which represents the flag of Catalonia and is one of the oldest jerseys still in use today, will return next season by popular demand. After the jersey with the four red stripes on a yellow background became the best-selling away jersey in the club's history in the 2013/14 season, the Blaugrana have offered it again in various designs in subsequent seasons. In 2019, the fourth jersey with the diagonal stripes was so well received that it was also used in 2020 and 2021, and the previous season's jersey will be worn again next season.
The version for the 2022/23 season uses the Nike template with the four red stripes across the chest and with the club logo in the middle to reinforce the affiliation to the Catalan region. Furthermore, using the same jersey for two seasons in a row, especially when it is a fourth jersey as in this case, is a decision for the sustainability of the jersey market. An aspect that should not be underestimated for a club that, like the Blaugrana, is always committed to social causes.
