The kit to celebrate America's best Brazilian striker
No Brazilian has scored more than Gabigol in the Copa Libertadores
May 8th, 2023
In the third minute of first-half injury time, on an assist from former Bologna and Fiorentina Erick Pulgar, Gabigol scored the lead for Flamengo against Racing Avellaneda, becoming with 30 goals the Brazilian top scorer in the history of the Libertadores Cup.
Gabigol won the Libertadores twice (2019 and 2022) with the Rio de Janeiro club, and to celebrate this latest record the striker released a new pack, which includes a celebratory rubro-negro jersey, a pillow and two mugs.
The kit, which was unveiled under the name "Maior artilheiro brasileiro da América" (Brazil's greatest striker from America), celebrates the milestone with a jersey that features Gabigol's merchandising logo alongside the club crest and adidas logo, together with a hand-crafted autograph. On the shoulders is the number 10 and the name "Gabi." With his 30th goal in South America's premier competition, Gabriel Barbosa overtook Luizão to become the fifth all-time scorer in the Libertadores and the second to score in all stages of the cup. The striker has been definitively consecrated with his return to Brazil, and this kit, with the choice of pillow and cups, shows how Gabigol has become a very popular idol in his homeland.
