Atletico Madrid returns to the past with a new jersey

26 April is an important day for Atletico Madrid, the same day 120 years ago that the club was founded. And to mark this special anniversary, the Spanish club, together with Nike, decided to create a kit inspired by the one used in the first match in history, in blue and white and with the club's original coat of arms on the chest. A new kit that the team will wear next Wednesday in the league match against Mallorca, just as the first Atlético players did in their historic debut.

No red and white for a match then, a tribute to the group of Basque students living in Madrid who founded the club and wore blue and white at the time. Similarly, the other detail that doesn't go unnoticed is the logo - used until 1917 - and consisting of a belt surrounding a football on which the Athletic Club's initials were woven. A return to the past that testifies to how much nostalgia is influencing the football market, increasing sales in order to make inroads into the hearts of fans, remembering those years they never lived.
