Verona's commemorative shirt is a tribute to the city
A simple but highly identifiable design
April 4th, 2023
After presenting the logo to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the birth of the Verona team, yesterday also saw the unveiling of the special jersey made by Macron that the Scaligeri will take to the pitch in the next Serie A match. Produced in a limited edition, the jersey's design is simple but extremely identifiable. The 'palio' type is a reference both to the first ever Hellas jersey in 1903, broken in half by the black and white colour, and to later jerseys with the same design but in yellow-blue. Everything is then embellished by a weave of 120 mastiffs, also present in this year's first jersey. But in reality, there are many details and references on the jersey. There is the 1903-2023 label, embroidered in the bottom right corner, a quotation from the 1995/96 jersey, the first one with the logo then used until 2020. In addition, the back of the collar, like the cuffs, has yellow-blue stripes edged in black, and is embellished with the words 'VERONA' and a tricolour line, a reference to the Scudetto victory.
Another peculiarity is that the shoot was entirely carried out at the Liceo Classico Scipione Maffei, located in the city centre, a place where the document that allowed Hellas Verona to give a specific period, and not just a year, to the birth of the team for the first time was found. A special place, guardian of all the symbolism and history that Verona has always referred to - which opened its doors to become the evocative setting for the shoot, realised by Studio Fantastico. This will be an important week for Verona, who after having made an important breakthrough, are called upon to respond on the pitch, in search of those three points that are fundamental for the salvation race.
