The new LC23 shirts for Bari signed by Kappa
History, tradition and creativity, all embellished with an iconic exultation
February 15th, 2023
Last season, in a record-breaking year for Bari which achieved promotion to Serie B, and in a not inconsiderable public setting, LC23 had surprised everyone with jerseys inspired by the Octopus, an animal that has become a symbol of belonging to the Apulian city. This year history repeats itself, but mixing history, tradition and the creativity that characterises the 100% Made in Puglia brand, all seasoned with a jubilation that has become iconic, offering two match kits obviously in a limited edition, a training kit and a representative t-shirt for a team that still wants to surprise everyone, once again.
In addition to the pattern that recalls the Apulian club's logo, the main concept behind the new shirts is to celebrate the 'trenino' exultation that became iconic during the Inter-Bari match in the 1994/95 season, in which the current De Laurentiis-owned team managed to return from San Siro to the Apulian capital with the 3 points, winning 2-1. The goalscorers, still unforgettable today, were Miguel Angel Guerrero and Sandro 'Cobra' Tovaglieri, and it was the Colombian striker himself, as seen in the video, who suggested to his teammates this particular exultation destined to remain in the annals of football.
The first match kit, which will make its debut in the midweek match against Venezia, is formed as follows: the shirt is divided into two horizontal sections, the upper section presenting the main graphic element on a white background pattern, and a lower section in which black and red horizontal stripes alternate. The main graphic element is the 'little train' which turns from a photograph into a graphic illustration and is placed on a pattern featuring the company logo.
The second kit that will debut this weekend against Cagliari is instead divided into two sections and presents the same elements of the first kit, but with different colours: the predominant colour of this jersey is amaranth, to pay homage to the twinning with Reggina and Salernitana that has lasted over thirty-five years. The upper section is characterised by a pattern on a black background and the 'little train' in amaranth colour; the collar is black with amaranth and off-white stripes, inside the collar there is the writing 'SSCB' in white on a black background. The colour of the band is off-white with black Omini and amaranth stripes.
Unlike last year, the big news this year will be a black representation t-shirt, embellished on the front with the "Galletto" in the classic colour and white Kappa logo. On the back is the white Kappa logo above the wording SSC BARI in red with white outlines. The band is white inside two amaranth stripes with a black Omini logo. A shirt that will most likely be worn before the kick-off whistle, when the two teams do their pre-match warm-up.
From octopus to train, one of the most eagerly awaited collaborations on the Italian scene returns once again. Last year's was an absolute success, both online and offline, where Galletto fans waited hours in line to get their hands on at least one item, as well as the two jerseys. Another detail that is the same as last year is the cockerel, the symbol of the SSC Bari logo, which is once again freed from all other elements and made as a rubber patch, and which it is hoped the club will decide to adopt for all jerseys, given the elegance that it gives to each item on which it is affixed.
