The first jersey in Dépor's history made from totally recycled fabric
A limited edition shirt designed by Kappa

As was done a few years ago by adidas Football and Parley For the Oceans, which had created third kits for Juventus, Real Madrid and Manchester United with entirely recycled materials, today Kappa presented a very similar jersey that Real Club Deportivo de La Coruña will only wear for their next home match on 8 January. As was done for the German brand's three teams, the Spanish team's jersey is also made entirely from plastic waste taken from the oceans.

A very special jersey in a limited edition, only 500 will be made, and which aims to be sustainable in everything, even in its sale. In order to minimise the carbon footprint, in fact, as in the manufacturing process, the jerseys have been transported from the factory to the shops in electric vehicles and will be delivered to the point of sale in cardboard boxes. Not only that, the sponsors Estrella Galicia, ABANCA, Kappa and DIGI had to give up their original colours and be tone-on-tone in light blue. This is because the EcoRec fabric is made from post-consumer plastic waste, and is obtained by recovering plastic bottles and other plastic waste from the seas and oceans. From this, for every 60 bottles, one kilo of yarn is obtained. The only treatment the garment receives is the dyeing of the fabric from white to blue, which also reduces water consumption for its production.
