Barcelona's third jersey with the Cross of St. George
Designed by Nike and inspired by one of Catalonia's highest honours

With the official start of the championships, teams and brands are closing the loop by presenting the last jerseys of the season. Today, after the surprising collaboration between adidas, Daily Paper and Ajax, Barcelona and Nike also presented the third and final jersey that will not only be used in European competitions but also in the league this season. The jersey, which is reminiscent of the one Nike made for Inter in 2007, is inspired by the Creu de Sant Jordi - Cross of St. George - one of Catalonia's highest honours, which this year will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the awarding of the same name to the club. In addition, the shirt highlights Barça's commitment to social causes, diversity and inclusion, core values that underpin its motto of being 'Més que un club'.
A design that has never arrived on the blaugrana's jersey and which will make its official debut this in the charity match against Manchester City and which looks very much like the kit rejected in 2020. A few seasons ago, the management was happy to create a jersey with the St. George's cross, but on the other hand, the basic colour chosen for the jersey forced Barça to reject it as being 'too close to Real Madrid's colours'. The incriminated 'blanco' played a certain role in the non-choice of the jersey and the fanaticism against the cousins from the capital was master. A few years later, Nike and Barcelona are at it again, bringing the cross to Barcelona's jersey but with a very different base colour from their rivals' white.
