The Manchester United jersey by adidas for the 2022/23 season
The polo collar, the element that has defined the Red Devils' aesthetic, make a comeback
July 8th, 2022
After a long series of rumors, this morning Manchester United unveiled the jersey for next season made by adidas, the Red Devils' technical sponsor since 2015. And right from the first kit made together comes the distinctive element of this year's jersey the polo collar has always been in Manchester United's DNA. Raised Cantona-style or buttoned down to the last button, the collar has always been synonymous with United, and adidas wanted to celebrate this aesthetic reference, emphasizing it with a geometric pattern in red that picks up on the letter M as done in last year's third kit.
The jersey, obviously in bright red, is crisscrossed with a thin stripe pattern while adidas' iconic three stripes highlight the shoulder line. The club crest is on the left side of the upper chest and is accompanied by the adidas logo on the left side, while the main sponsor TeamViewer is in the center of the jersey. The jersey is made entirely of Primegreen, or recycled materials, and features HEAT.RDY technology, which keeps the wearer cool, dry and confident.
