After being the scene of one of the most sensational matches of the season, the 4-3 win in extra time with which Monza overcame Pisa to reach Serie A for the first time in its history, the U-Power Stadium will be renovated in view of the top Italian competition. The lighting system will be adjusted to bring it up to the standards required by Serie A while to increase the number of spectators, which currently stands at 9,999, work will start shortly to renovate the east stand so as to increase the capacity to 16 thousand seats. A necessary restyling for a team that is clearly on the rise and attracting more and more fans and onlookers, having gone from Serie C to Serie A in just a few years under the leadership of veteran Adriano Galliani.
The former Milan vice-president himself told Gazzetta dello Sport that the intervention will be quick to have the facility ready as soon as possible: "Nothing in particular. Later on we will do a major renovation, for the next championship we are trying to reopen the east stand bringing the capacity from 10 thousand to 15 thousand seats. We need the seats and other small things, but the structure is there. In 90 days we should get it done." In addition, new facilities will be built at the Monzello sports field, including a synthetic training field, as well as others dedicated to youth teams. The euphoria over Monza's achievement shows no sign of abating, and the Serie A landing is only the first of many even more ambitious plans.
