EA Sports testing cross-play for FIFA 22
A revolution that will allow users to play from with each others on different consoles and operating systems
May 4th, 2022
After announcing the name change, EA Sports has another big news in store. In the game's Pitch Notes we read that the division of Electronic b that develops and publishes sports video games is carrying out tests to bring cross-play already in this edition of the game, although at the beginning it will only work on seasons and online friendlies and especially on the latest generation consoles, namely: PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Stadia. A real revolution that Konami with the new eFootball already wanted to bring since today it is impossible to compete with someone who has a different console. At the moment there is no confirmed launch date, the only thing that is certain is that cross-play can be activated via a widget in the game's home screen.
These are certainly trials and tests with a view to next year, when the other consoles will hopefully be included to allow the game to become increasingly interactive. It is also a way to break those limitations that until now have not allowed sports video games to reach the fame of games like Fortnite, born and designed to challenge anyone regardless of the console.
